Being a responsible player, Tata Power Solar has joined hands with various banks like SBI, PNB across India to provide financial supports to the various residential rooftop consumers. Basis the project requirements, the financial support are open till 70% from the banks. For 1MW projects, the down payment is up to 30%. The tenure of the payback can be up to 15yrs, as per the lease agreement. The collaterals are planned in line with individual projects.
The company has also initiated a nationwide 100 cities awareness programme to promote the benefit of savings by installing rooftop solar systems. The company has over 27,000 residential customers subscribing to the solutions. The campaign has witnessed a successful launch in 94 cities across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad to name a few and expected to cover 6 additional cities in the coming months with the intent to promote solar energy, as the installation is expected to save up to Rs. 50,000 per 5kW per year.
Tata Power Solar has installed over 25,000 solar water pumps across India. Farmers no longer have to depend on expensive diesel pumps or erratic grid supply. The company has over 38% market share in the Maharashtra project for solar water pumps. Using the power of the sun, the solar pumps ensure dawn to dusk operations with consistent year on year water output. Through grid connectivity, the farmers also enjoy twin benefits of using solar power for agriculture as well as generating income by exporting access power back to the grid. Also solar water pumps help in mitigating issues pertaining to the availability of water for drinking purpose in rural India.
