Tata Power Solar took up relief efforts at the ground level in the worst affected areas during the recent Chennai floods. From arranging supplies like water bottles, snacks, tetra pack milk, mosquito coils and energy tablets, to emergency essential materials like tarpaulins & woolen blankets, we worked at the back end to reach relief materials to the disaster hit areas. Emergency Medicines and health drinks were distributed at the health camp. Critical relief materials were also distributed to the flood affected people at one of our project sites, where 200 families benefitted from the initiative.
Tata Power Solar family participated in the Tata Sangam event, organized by the Tata Sports Club in Bengaluru, with around 6500 Tata employees and their families. At the event, we had a set up a kiosk to educate the visitors on solar power, its uses and our products. The kiosk received enthusiastic response from the visitors.
Tata Power Solar also made a mark at this year’s lucky draw contest.
Jayaram S won the event’s bumper prize – A Tata Nano. Interestingly this is the first time a TPS employee has won the bumper prize. We also have Neelakanth B Hegde who won a Taj Dinner Voucher.
Tata Power Solar, like all the other Tata Group companies, also remembered our founder – Sri Jamsetji Tata on his 177th birth anniversary by organising a founder’s day celebration event. The event saw an active participation from all employees gathering at Unit 2, Bangalore, in a manner reminiscent of the unity and ethics which brings & binds us together. Even the regional offices and project sites paid their tribute to our founders in their respective locations.
The function was initiated with an emphasis on safety, followed by a video-address from the Tata Group Chairman, Mr. Cyrus Mistry.
Ms. Prabha S P, one of our oldest employees, delivered a touching talk about her 25 years journey in the company. She laid special emphasis on women empowerment, good working conditions and development opportunities the organisation has provided here during her tenure.
Mr. Ashish Khanna - ED & CEO, Tata Power Solar addressed the gathering of employees, emphasizing on the Tata Values and importance of Ethics in our personal and professional life, which has taken the Tata Group and our company to the level it stands on today.
Mr. Seethapathy Chander - Senior Director, Tata Power Solar further echoed the importance of ethics in our professional and personal lives, and with value it carries for sustenance of businesses in ethical ways, supported with real life examples and verses from the holy books.
All gathered employees reiterated their faith and dedicated their oath towards the Tata ethics pledge, enunciated by Mr. Rajesh Daga, CFO, Tata Power Solar and Mr. Nagesh Kotagahalli, President, Tata Power Solar Employees Union.

On 1st May 2016 our union celebrated their 10th Anniversary, coinciding with the International Labor Day at the JN Tata Auditorium, National Institute of Science, Bangalore. On this occasion the ex-leadership team of Tata BP Solar / Tata Power Solar, D Guru, Ravishankar K, Subramanya K S and Keshava Prasad were invited to the event as the guest of honour. The occasion was also graced by union office bearers of other major companies Titan, SKF, AstraZeneca, Volvo, Kennametal, ABB, TKM, Bosch, TAML, and GE Power. The union leaders facilitated the ex-leadership team of Tata BP Solar / Tata Power Solar and the union office bearers of other major companies. The afternoon continued with cultural performances & lunch.
During the program Mr. Ashish Khanna, ED & CEO, Tata Power Solar handed over the long service recognition awards to the employees who have completed 10, 15, 20, 25 years in the company. The HR & IR team were also facilitated by the union members, during the event. Higher education awards were distributed to employee’s children for scoring the highest marks in 10th & 12th standard examinations. Comedy shows and cultural programs were organised for the employees by external performers.

- India's First Mono Perc Cell handed over by Tata Power Solar
Tata Power Solar creates history by producing India's First Mono Perc Cell of 166mm & handed over the first cell to the Honourable Minister for Electricity, Kerala, Shri. K. Krishnankutty on 19th of October 2022. The event took place at Thiruvananthapuram Minister Office, Kerala to celebrate and appreciate the states’ commitment towards renewable energy and successful implementation of significant projects in Phases 1&2 of the KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) SOURA Rooftop Solar project. The state ministry applauds Tata Power Solar’s commitment and devotion to promote sustainable energy in the country. The ministry expresses its desire, that Tata Power Solar should participate in future green initiative projects like Solar Pumps, the Micro Hydro Project, and various ANERT projects.
- A historic Win for Tata Power Solar
India's largest solar EPC order bagged by Tata Power Solar. Tata Power Solar steps forward in the mission to contribute to India’s sustainability goals by adding one of the biggest solar EPC projects to our name with SJVN Limited issuing LOA for the EPC order of 1GW for INR 5500 Cr. This EPC order has been designed keeping in mind the innovative use of ‘Make in India’ cells and modules. The project will be developed under the CPSU scheme of MNRE and will be completed within a period of 24months. Covering around 5000+ acres of land in Rajasthan, this project aims at reducing around 22,87,128kg of carbon emission and is expected to generate around 2500 million units annually.
