Remote Micro Grids
A large part of India is still off the grid and today more and more people agree that, perhaps that isn’t such a bad thing. In the fragile eco-system of Ladakh where the sun shines throughout the year, for example, a clean power source like solar PV microgrids is an effective alternative. Tata Power Solar has been chosen by the Renewable Energy Development Agencies of many states to set up remote microgrids across Ladakh, Chhattisgarh and Sunderbans, to name a few places. These little power plants have not only made a significant economic difference to the residents of the village, but have also generated employment amongst the locals in the building and maintenance of the plants.
